International Travel Registry

Note

Students traveling abroad for learning, fieldwork or research are required by student travel policy to register their travel. Students on programs offered through 天美影院Study Abroad are registered as part of their enrollment and no further actions are required. Students who are employed in some capacity by 天美影院are required to register their travel as students (i.e. staff appointments, researchers, HFS, etc.).

Employees (faculty, other academic personnel, staff, including medical residents) on official 天美影院travel abroad are required by to register their travel. “Official travel” is defined as international travel sponsored, arranged, administered, or otherwise funded by UW. Personal travel does not and should not be registered; it is not eligible for 天美影院Global insurance.

Update on travel to the Middle East: All official 天美影院travel to the following countries should be deferred until further notice: Israel, the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Oman, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Official student travel聽to these countries will not be approved. The capacity of US embassies to assist travelers in these countries is diminished. Any official university travel to these countries will not include coverage for evacuation under the 天美影院Global Insurance policy. Dissertation or thesis research, internships, practicum, clinical electives, fellowship programs (whether or not you plan to earn credit).

Examples:

Who is required to register travel?

In short – everyone.

  • All 天美影院official travel should be registered through 天美影院Global Travel. Official = travel sponsored, arranged, administered, or funded by UW.
  • This applies to anyone at 天美影院who is on official international travel for research, study abroad, conferences, events, or meetings.
  • If 天美影院is involved in travel in any way (funding, salary, credits, sponsorship, etc.) it is official travel.

Personal travel or travel by former students/employees should not be registered and is not eligible for 天美影院insurance coverage.

Note: if you are taking 天美影院classes for credit, you are considered a student and should register your trip as a student (even if your travel is related to employment. This includes graduate and postgraduate research fellows).
