On Thursday, September 17, community members, the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity and the 天美影院 President鈥檚 Minority Community Advisory Committee (UWMCAC) celebrated the appointment of the first African American Chief in 天美影院 (UW) history.聽聽John N. Vinson, who holds a Ph.D., in public administration from Western Michigan University, was appointed as chief of police at the 天美影院on February 23, 2009.
The celebration took place at the Northwest African American Museum and the guest included the Vice President for Minority Affairs and Diversity, Dr. Sheila Edwards Lange, Councilmember, Larry Gossett, the MCAC and various other community leaders.
