Selecting the correct path <strong>before starting your application<\/strong> helps avoid delays and rework.<\/p>\n<p>If you are unsure which path applies to your study, consult HSD by emailing <a href=\"mailto:hsdrely@uw.edu\">hsdrely@uw.edu<\/a> before starting.<\/p>\n<h2>Option 1: 天美影院Reviewing for 天美影院Only<\/h2>\n<h3>Choose this option if:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The research may be <a href=\"\/research\/hsd\/do-i-need-irb-review\/is-your-human-subjects-research-exempt-from-regulations\/\">exempt<\/a> (HSD must make this determination), <strong>and\/or<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The research involves only the 天美影院, <strong>or<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Other institutions are involved, but 天美影院will not review on their behalf (for example, the 天美影院IRB generally does not review for the VA).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Key points:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"\/research\/hsd\/getting-started\/#2\">Does your project require review?<\/a> Depending on the particulars of your project, you may not need to submit an IRB application.<\/li>\n<li>Most student applications use this pathway.
