Developing patents from research work will be the topic for the next program in the 鈥淭hings Your Mother Never Taught You鈥 series sponsored by the School of Medicine鈥檚 Office of Industry Relations.
The presentation, 鈥淔rom Vision to Value: Creating Patent Strategies and Portfolios from Your Research,鈥 from noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17, in room T-739 of the Health Sciences Buillding, is open to everyone.
Dr. Susan Wray, director of industry relations for the School of Medicine, and Dr. Paula Szoka, director of invention licensing for the 天美影院Tech Transfer Office, will be the speakers. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentations.
Areas to be covered include:
- Turning research into a patentable intellectual property portfolio
- Taking steps toward disclosing an invention and determining patentability
- Commercializing technology
- Examples of active 天美影院faculty patent portfolios.
