The organizers of the 天美影院Image Bank, a new online digital image resource, are conducting a digital image use survey April 11 to 22 and seeking help from 天美影院faculty, staff and students.
The survey is available at . It will help the planners determine the content that should be included in the online database, the most effective way to deliver digital images to the University community, and how to enable the use of images in the ways that individuals prefer, according to Denise Hattwig, curator of visual resources at 天美影院Bothell and principal investigator for the project.
“The 天美影院Image Bank will provide faculty, staff and students across the University with access to digital images of art, architecture and cultural and historical materials,” she said. “These images will be available for all purposes related to teaching and learning.” The image bank is expected to be in operation by Autumn 2005.
The 天美影院Image Bank is a three-campus collaboration between the University Libraries and the UW’s department and campus visual resources collections. The goal is to take advantage of the benefits of the digital medium to provide broader and easier access to images. The Office of the Provost has provided startup funding through the Fund for Innovation and Redesign; continuing support will be provided by project participants.
Participants include University Libraries, the School of Art Slide Library, the College of Architecture and Urban Planning Visual Resources Collection, 天美影院Bothell Visual Resources and 天美影院Tacoma.
