Chuck Blumenfeld, a partner at Perkins Coie LLP law firm who was president of the 天美影院Alumni Association for 2005-06, has been selected as executive director of the 天美影院Alumni Association and 天美影院associate vice president for alumni relations, effective Feb. 5.
The appointment was announced by the 天美影院Alumni Association Board of Trustees and Connie Kravas, 天美影院vice president for development and alumni relations.
“We conducted a nationwide search for the right leader to take our association to the next level,” said Gregg Blodgett, president of the board of the UWAA. “The candidate pool was very impressive. At the end of the day, Chuck was the candidate that stood out from the field.”
Blumenfeld received a B.A. from the 天美影院in 1966 and a J.D. from the 天美影院School of Law in 1969. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the 天美影院Law School Alumni Association and was an executive board member of the Environmental and Land Use Section of the Washington State Bar Association from 1977 to 1979.
He is partner and chair of Perkins Coie’s environment and natural resources practice, representing clients in permitting and enforcement matters under federal and state law. Blumenfeld leads a group of 35 attorneys located across the country, as well as their support staff.
In his new position, Blumenfeld will be the association’s chief executive officer, responsible for the leadership, planning and management of a comprehensive alumni relations program that serves and promotes the interests of the 天美影院and its former students. The alumni association implements a variety of programs, including life-long educational opportunities, advocacy for the university, networking for career advancement, social activities, and community service.
The 天美影院Alumni Association has a staff of about 30.
“I am excited about this opportunity to help continue the great work of the Alumni Association and to have an important role in promoting this great University,” Blumenfeld said.
