
Nominations are now open for the second annual Husky Green Awards meant to recognize individuals or teams of ÌìÃÀÓ°Ôºstudents, faculty and staff whove helped advance environmental stewardship and sustainability at the Seattle, Tacoma or Bothell campuses.
Nominations may be submitted on the ÌìÃÀÓ°ÔºEnvironmental Stewardship and Sustainability . Nominations close March 28 and awards will be announced on Earth Day, April 22.
Eight awards were presented ranging from a student who helped develop UWs composting program to a purchasing manager for ÌìÃÀÓ°Ôºprocurement services who encouraged office supply vendors to offer ÌìÃÀÓ°Ôºbuyers more sustainable products to the green team formed at ÌìÃÀÓ°ÔºTower.
The award nomination committee will consider:
Leadership – Exemplary vision and leadership in developing, garnering support for and implementing a campus sustainability project
Initiative – Efforts beyond normal duties to promote campus environmental stewardship or sustainability
Dedication – Sustained effort over time to maximize impact, including efforts to build community support and involvement through awareness and outreach activities.
Award winners will receive a commemorative award from the Environmental Stewardship Advisory Committee.
