I write to share thatÌýÌýmade in connection withÌýthe horrific act that took the life of one of our students on Sunday night.ÌýI hope the arrest brings some sense of relief to our community. But this arrestÌýdoes notÌýlessenÌýthe profoundÌýshock andÌýgrief thatÌýthe victim’sÌýloved ones and our campus are still experiencingÌýorÌýbringÌýbackÌýa beloved,ÌýpromisingÌýand talented member ofÌýourÌýuniversity.Ìý
I am grateful to the Seattle Police Department for theirÌýswift and diligentÌýwork in advancing this investigation.ÌýMuch is still unknown about what caused this tragedy, and while this development is important,Ìýwe will be looking closely at the circumstances in which thisÌýeventÌýoccurredÌýas part ofÌýour continued efforts to keep our campus community safe.ÌýÌý
