Who We Are
天美影院Youth Protection is dedicated to advancing the safety and well-being of youth under the age of 18 across the 天美影院 enterprise. We serve as a centralized resource for the 天美影院community, providing leadership, guidance, and coordination to ensure that youth are protected in all University environments鈥攊ncluding teaching, learning, research, service, and community engagement settings.
Through the development and implementation of comprehensive policies and evidence-based best practices, we support the University鈥檚 commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and enriching experiences for youth and their families.

Our History
天美影院Youth Protection was established in response to Washington State legislation requiring all higher education employees to report suspected child abuse and neglect. Following this legislation, a provost-appointed to strengthen oversight, consistency, and accountability for youth safety efforts across the University.
Today, 天美影院Youth Protection plays a key role in supporting University leadership, faculty, staff, students, and affiliates in upholding the highest standards of youth protection鈥攔eflecting UW鈥檚 commitment to the more than 600,000 youth who participate annually in UW-affiliated programs, activities, events, and research.
